Time Delayed Reaction

Two different clear liquids are used to fill a bottle. The bottle is then shaken vigorously. After about 20 seconds, the liquid in the bottle becomes, surprisingly, completely black all at once.

How does it work?
A reaction takes place in the solution, and the element Iodine is formed. This simultaneously reacts and connects to other molecules. However, once the necessary partner molecules are exhausted, more iodine emerges and reacts with the starch, making the liquid turn black. This process is called the Landolt’sche Time Reaction, named after its inventor.
